Matariki Collection

The Patiki design and Matariki together designed a beautiful narrative about the cycles of life, renewal, and connection to the natural world. The Patiki, or flounder fish motif, is a symbol of abundance, prosperity, and the importance of balance. It is a design that reflects harmony with nature, guiding us to be mindful of the resources we have and the way we engage with the world around us. The Patiki also symbolizes the importance of adaptability and resilience, as the flounder swims gracefully through varying tides, much like we must navigate life’s changing circumstances.

Matariki,(stars in the center of the design) is the Māori New Year, marks the rising of the Matariki star cluster and signifies a time of reflection, renewal, and preparing for the future. It is a time to honor ancestors, celebrate harvests, and set intentions for the year ahead. The presence of Matariki in the night sky is a reminder of the interconnectedness of all things—the stars, the land, and the people. It invites us to pause, reflect, and rejuvenate, creating space for healing and growth.

Together, the Patiki design and Matariki remind us to stay grounded and connected to the cycles of the world. In our everyday lives, they offer guidance to embrace change with grace and to reflect on our past while setting meaningful goals for the future. These symbols encourage us to live with intention, to recognize the importance of balance in all things, and to honor the relationships we hold with the land, the stars, and each other. As we move through life, we are reminded to flow like the Patiki, adaptable to the tides of life, and to embrace the wisdom and opportunities brought by Matariki, continuously guiding us towards renewal and growth.
